Challenge / Quokka Quilts: Blogger's Choice Giveaway

I admit that I don't do much sewing, but that doesn't stop me from buying beautiful fabrics! I have all sorts of pretty fabrics, from florals and solids to retro-inspired prints. I have made clothes for some of my amigurumi toys, but lots of my fabric is laying around in my cupboard... waiting for me to become motivated to use it. You would think that having a mum who had her own fashion label (women's & children's) that I would be a super-sewer and clothes designer but, unfortunately, I did not pick up either trait.

However, I recently came across a blog which is hosting a giveaway, which has really inspired me to pull out my sewing machine and get going with some projects I've had in mind for a while. The blog, Quokka Quilts, has set the challenge for it's readers to choose 12 prints and 3 solids from the Fat Quarter Shop, and put together a collage of their chosen fabrics. The lucky winner will receive a half yard of 15 fabrics of their choice. I don't have a clue what a half yard is in metres, but I know enough to tell that this is an amazing prize!

I thought this giveaway sounded like a great challenge. I thoroughly enjoyed searching high and low for the perfect pieces for my 'digital quilt', and I am really pleased with the final result:

Favourite Items: Stamps

A couple of days ago, I bought a set of adorable animal stamps. I'm going through a stamp craze at the moment... the ink kind, not the ones that go on envelopes. I always 'window shop' online, and find myself gazing at items I would love to buy, but I never actually make a purchase. So, this is quite a treat for me! The stamps are DIY and come with backing pads, so they should be easy to put together. The great thing is, being DIY, the price of them was much less than most stamp sets (which, as you may know, can be rather pricy).

Look how cute they are!

It got me thinking what other good quality, but affordable, stamps sets are available for purchase on the internet - and so, I bring to you this delightful collection of stamp sets for you to either 'ooh' over, or purchase:
